Jiro Dreams of SushiJiro Dreams of Sushi is a documentary film made in 2011 that follows the life of Jiro Ono, and his quest for the perfect piece of sushi. He is the first sushi chef to receive three Michelin stars, and owns his own restaurant in a Tokyo, Japan subway station which seats only 10 people. His restaurant, Sukiyabashi Jiro, serves only one tasting menu with 20 courses on it. Each course is made up of one singular piece of sushi, each different and unique in its own way. The menu is constantly changing with Jiro altering each piece of sushi to make it as close to perfect as humanly possible. The menu usually costs around 380$ US dollars per person, which is equivalent to about 41, 400 Japanese Yen. Needless to say however, it is worth every penny, even according to President Obama, who visited the restaurant and said, "It was the greatest sushi I have ever had". The documentary about Jiro and his humble yet astonishing restaurant is very inspiring and teaches that it is always good to follow your dreams your entire life, and never stop chasing perfection. It received 99% on Rotten Tomatoes and is certainly worth watching.
